The short version

Who we are

Mice vs Owls is made by Bitt Games, an independent game studio in Romania. For anything about this policy or your data, write to [email protected].

What the game collects

DataWhyWhere it goes
A random install identifier (a string of 32 letters and digits created on the first launch). It is not linked to you, your device identifiers or any account. Deleting the app deletes it. To count players and tell one game session from another. PostHog (see below), with each statistics event.
Gameplay events: session start, battles played and won, level reached, chests opened, buildings upgraded, ads watched, in-game purchases made, and when a button refused an action (for example "not enough cards"). Each event carries the game state it needs, such as the level or the stage number, the app version, the platform (iOS) and the language. To find levels that are too hard or too easy and features nobody uses, and to fix them. PostHog, stored in the European Union.
Advertising data handled by Google AdMob when you choose to watch a rewarded ad: device information, IP address and ad interaction data as described in Google's policy. To show you a video ad and verify that you watched it so the game can give you the reward. Google AdMob. We only receive "the ad was watched".
Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store. We receive confirmation that a pack was bought, never your card, name or address. To deliver what you bought and to restore purchases on a new phone. Apple. Our statistics record only the pack name and price.

Your progress (levels, mice, coins) is saved on your device only. We do not upload it and we cannot recover it for you if the app is deleted.

What the game does not collect

No name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera. The game does not ask for the iOS "Allow tracking" permission and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking across apps, so ads are served without cross-app tracking.

Anonymous statistics and how to turn them off

Statistics are sent in small batches over an encrypted connection to PostHog, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt). Open Settings → Anonymous stats in the game and switch it off: from that moment nothing is recorded or sent. Statistics are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted.

Advertising

Ads appear only in clearly marked places ("Watch an ad") and only after you tap. They are served by Google AdMob under Google's privacy policy. An Ad-Free Pass bought in the game removes all ads for its duration. Where the law requires it, Google's consent form is shown before ads load.

Children

Mice vs Owls is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the game collects no personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what data we hold about your installation, ask for it to be deleted, or object to its processing. Because the statistics are anonymous, we need your install identifier to find them: it is shown at the bottom of the game's Settings screen. Email it to [email protected] and we will delete the matching events within 30 days. You can also complain to your national data protection authority; in Romania that is the ANSPDCP.

Changes

If the game starts collecting something new, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. Material changes are also mentioned in the app's update notes.
